Assistant Financial Controller

Job purpose

  • Be a key member of the global finance team based in Tbilisi and play critical role in running accounting processes across the group
  • Be responsible for various controlling tasks with particular focus on such strategic streams as Group Revenue Recognition and Gross Margin in compliance with IFRS and internal guidelines
  • Monitor month/year close process through thorough review of IS and BS by subsidiary and by Department
  • Be the key contact with IFRS Reporting team to agree complex, non-standard transactions before period close 
  • Liaise with FP&A team to discuss monthly/yearly results and support budgeting process
  • Ensure integrity of group’s financial reports, proactively seek opportunities to strengthen control mechanisms and improve processes within area of responsibility
  • Actively support audit process by reconciling key IS and BS accounts and providing supporting evidence to auditors on a timely basis
  • Assist Financial Controller and CFO with ad hoc requests 
  • Be proactive, flexible and adaptable to a varied, fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • 5 years of relevant work experience 
  • Professional accountancy qualification i.e. ACCA, CIMA, ACA (or equivalent), or close to completion
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Good working knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience with ERP systems is an advantage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (other languages are a plus)
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture;
  • Self-sufficient, with hands-on nature;
  • Multicultural approach, comfortable working with different cultures and mind-sets;
  • Appreciation to work in a global organization with employees in different time zones/regions;
  • Flexibility, the need to be comfortable with ambiguity as the business grows and evolves;
  • Personable.
